Latest Lust: Mary Katrantzou dresses

Mary Katrantzou is a young and very talented London based designer, who originates from Greece. She has a BA and MA Texture Design from Central Saint Martins (the best;)

This was her winter 2010 collection inspired by Vintage perfume bottles, 18th century portraits and Victor Skrebneski, who's famous for his fashion photography and his work for the ad campaigns of the cosmetics company Estee Lauder.

Check it out

This is her summer collection which im in utter love with.

I think it was influenced mostly by constructivism in the 70s, and her designs create the illusion of wearing bold jewelry with a 70s twist. It's hard not to be instantly drawn to her dresses, they are visually stimulating.

Devon

Devon Aoki is quite shorter than the typical model, but this didn’t stop her from becoming a successful fashion model and actress.

She's Japanese/ American.

Devon is one of my favorite models to look at, i think shes got a very special look to her.

She started modeling when she was 13, the same year Aoki was introduced by her godmother to Kate Moss, who would later take the young model under her wing. She was signed to Storm Model Management at age 14. In 1998, at the age of 16, Aoki replaced Naomi Campbell as the face of Versace.

You've seen her in movies like 2 Fast 2 Furious, Sin City and DOA (Dead or Alive).

Chupa Chups By Salvador Dali

Spanish Enric Bernat founded Chupa Chups, a lollipop company in 1958. The name comes from the Spanish verb chupar, meaning "to suck".

Bernat got the idea of a "bonbon with a stick" from a cursing mother as her child got sticky hands from melting sweets that it wiped off on his clothes. He came up with his lollipop idea as he thought that, at that time, sweets were not designed with the main consumers, children, in mind.

The shopkeepers were also instructed to place the lollipops near the cash register within reach of children's hands - instead of the traditional placement behind the counter.

The Chupa Chups logo was designed by one of my favorite artists Salvador Dalí :)

Summer Crave

This is what i need to be doing right now *-*

Bokeh Loveh

The term “Bokeh” comes from the Japanese word boke (暈け or ボケ), which means "blur" or "haze".

In photography, bokeh is the blur or the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light creating these little illuminated circles, which I just love.

Bokeh occurs for parts of the scene that lie outside the depth of field taken with a macro (shallow focus) lens.

These are some of my favorite "bokeh" photos that i have taken throughout the past few years, all taken with a macro lens.

Neo Hippie

Being almost 40 years to the day since Woodstock, this new wave of hippy is starting to become more and more popular… I feel artists and photogs seem to be on the same bandwagon… and i love it!

Just in time for summer, I can see this trend becoming one of the most fun we’ve had in a long time.

Anyway, art wise, these images are taken by photgrapher Neil Krug featuring his supermodel wife Joni Harbeck.

These 70s stylized polaroids “honor the tradition of old movie posters and magazines”. Beautiful!

Check out his site here.

Winter Kate is a collection full of L.A chic items and maybe that's not so odd considering it's Nicole Richie who designs the brand.

Very Boho chic.

Never Tired of Old Hollywood

These are some shots of Kirsten Dunst by Mario Testino for the Spring 2010 issue of V Magazine.

Im not a personal fan of Dunst, but after looking at these shots, the lighting, the clothes, the poses & offcoarse make up, i believe she does have that old hollywood glamour.

My favorite one is the V Magazine cover head shot.

Very Cecil Beaton-esque.

Check them out

RAW Madonna

I found these RAW (unphotoshopped images) of Fall 2009 Louis Vuitton ad campaign featuring Madonna, I just had to share them.
She really does look like she's in her 50s, yikes!
These unedited shots just show how much editing really took place.
The campaign was shot by iconic fashion photographer Steven Meisel.
All the images prominently feature the “bunny ears” and a handbag. I do love the bunny ears though!
For some reason I kinda like the treatment of the images, what’s your thoughts?
