Latest Inspiration: Floral + Army Green

Alex Prager Photowork

These are shots from an American photographer Alex Prager working out of Los Angeles, California. I’m seriously in love with her work. Look like stills from an Alfred Hitchcock movie.

The new Isabel Marant F/W 10-11 ads shot by one of my favorite fashion photographers, dutch duo, Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin.
Absolutely fab, Kate never fails to deliver her effortless cool to any shoot.

Pixelated Floor Art

These rugs are a new edition to the Spanish rug company Nanimarquina. They have always had some really funky designed rugs, but this one is by far my favorite.
They look like pixelated digital art zoomed in. These rugs have their source in photographic enlargement, giving the pieces a digital and technological look. Depending on the light or time of day, a glance captures the random union of one part of the 26 colours that make up the rug, always creating surprising groupings that are surprising to the eye; really shocking optical effects.

An interesting piece of art to grace any floor.
They remind me of Dali's infamous painting "Gala Contemplating the Mediterranean Sea" which at Twenty Meters becomes a Portrait of Abraham Lincoln.

Keith Haring for Nicholas Kirkwood

One of my absolute favorite modern artists Keith Haring has inspired many designers such as Rodarte, Patricia Feild, Tommy Hilfiger & Erdem in the past. But the latest designer inspired by Haring is acclaimed british shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood. Haring’s bold character scribbles will make a vibrant and unique print on Kirkwood’s sky-high heels.

“I watched this documentary called The Universe of Keith Haring, and though I know his style, I hadn’t seen the breadth of his work. I couldn’t stop thinking about how amazing and prolific he was and how great it would be to incorporate his graphics into my designs,” Kirkwood explained. “So I ended up approaching the Keith Haring Foundation. I had to really sell them the product, but I think they’re pretty happy with the end result.”

The collection consists of 12 footwear styles to be released in February 2011. Love the first 4 pairs already, especially the peep-toe pumps with the baby heel. Although they look more like art pieces to me that footwear.

Prague- A compact city with so many architectural gems

Today Prague or Praha is one of the most beautiful cities in europe. It was my first time there, & personally its one of the most romantic cities I've been to till now.
Its got this old town charm which one can feel in numerous old cities across europe, but Praha has this distinct ancient awe inspiring majestic feel to it, from the lavish buildings, castles & bridges to the little cobblestone alleyways.

Here you can see all the evolution of the architecture art: from the Romanic Style untill the Modern (Cubist) Style.

The town of Prague was born on the grouping of four towns: Mala Strana (The Little Town) located under the castle; Stare Mesto (The Old Town) with its famous Old Town Square with the Astronomical Clock; Josefov (The Jewish Town) with its interesting Synagogues and the old cemetery; Nové Mesto (The New Town) with its fantastic Art Nouveau buildings and the great Wenceslas Square.

I also loved the Russian mariyushka dolls everywhere & the amazing bohemian crystals.

The didnt attempt to try the local food after seeing thier star dish, so all my reccomended restaurants are not czech.

Also Czech takes pride that its the biggest producer of Absinthe, so you find Absinthe bottles everywhere & even absinthe slush:)

It was like a fairy-tale.

Here is My must see things in Prague:

1) Charles Bridge (Karluv Most): One of the landmarks of Prague, Charles Bridge. The bridge is lined with statues of saints one of which is St. John of Nepomuk. You will know it because there will be a line and two very shiny spots on the statue this is because it is said that if you touch the statue with you left hand (hand closest to heart) than you dreams will come true. St. John of Nepomuk, was executed by being thrown off this bridge so there is also a memorial spot for him, The bridge is animated by plenty of street painters and performers which offers a splendid touristic spectacle. Especially at night time, when the tourist invasion is lessened, it becomes more fascinating and romantic.

2) Old Town Square (Stare Mesto): The old town of Prague is absolutely fantastic. The bulidings are exceptionally beautiful, and the astronomical clock is a sight to see. There are also tons of shops and restaurants.

3) Mucha Museum: Smallish but excellent examination of Alfons Mucha's beautiful graphic work, a leader in the art nouveau movement, including many of his works for Sarah Bernhardt, his posters for the Czech cause, some applied arts, and paintings. Also not to miss the film, in English, is an excellent documentary of his life and work.

4) Petrin Hill & Petrin Tower: Petrin hill is the biggest park in prague & ofcoarse its a hill. On the top theres the Petrin Tower which looks alot like the eiffel tower. Take the funicular railway up the hill, then the elevator up the tower to get the most beautiful views of Praha. Then wind your way down the hill. There are a couple of restaurants dotted around it with pretty decent prices and incredible views.

5) Dancing House: By Frank Gehry

6) Como Restaurant @ Jalta Hotel

7) La Bodeguita del Medio: A Cuban restaurant with Cuban-style steaks & enormous mojitos. In the evening, there is live music for the diners in the downstairs area of the restaurant, playing and singing Cuban classics.

8) Kogo Restaurant: upscale trattoria has become the local Italian favorite. Try the lobster, yumm

Alber Elbaz for H&M

So Lanvin is the guest designer for H&M this fall. And it's all about going luxury and create Lanvin for a bigger audience.
If you listen to Alber you also get the idea that the stuff is going to be more expensive. I have mixed feelings. This collab is 1000 % better than Rykiel (which i thought was horrendous & tacky) but it's still H&M.
Well, I'm still looking forward to see the actual stuff....

Latest Lust: Knuckle Duster McQ Clutch

Its equal parts delicate and gothic, this Alexander McQueen skull clutch is a clutch that commands attention. It ladylike and delicate and comes in delicious cream and lace exterior. However, what makes it exciting is the clasp made of gangster-style knuckle ring with four holes to slip your fingers into, each ring resembles a real wearable ring with ornamentation to boot.
It's like wearing amazing jewelry plus a handbag, all in one.
The black lace/ nude one is my fave at the moment.
